Mercedes Benz's Grand Move

      German Luxury car makers Mercedes is enjoying their year of Excellence. After their launch of new Formula 1 car by MERCEDES AMG PETRONAS W205, their next car is Mercedes Benz C Class Grand Edition' which has been made to celebrate the 50,000th car by their Pune based plant.

      Merc has launched the new C-Class Grand Edition in both petrol and diesel unit as their heart. Mercedes C Class is going to get replaced by this next gen car which was officially revealed on Detroit Motor Show 2014. The Car receives two engine options in India petrol C200 CGi and Diesel C220 CDi. 

      The Auto major has reported growth of 32 percent in terms of volumes in last calendar year over 2012, also rolled out their 50,000th car by its Chakan plant in Pune. The C-Class remains one of the best selling cars by Merc in the entry level luxury sedan segment and sold over 19,000 units till now.

       The C-Class gets tons of additional features than its predecessors in terms of interior, exterior and performance. The C-class has the same engine but its has all new features like in S-Class but without any gain in weight, moreover it lost 100kgs and thanks to extensive use of Aluminium. The heart of C-Class has C200 CGi is powered by 186PS 1,786cc and 285N-m peak power and torque whereas C220 CDi turbo diesel engine which is powered by a 176PS 2,143cc and 400N-m peak power and torque.

        The 'Grand Edition' comes with host of additional features which differentiates from a regular C-Class. The 2014 C-Class Grand Edition comes with AMG Styling Kit as standard. This includes the front and rear bumpers, side skirts and AMG centre gap on its std. 17 inch wheels. The Grand Edition specially receives a special aluminium finish centre grill with its Mercedes logo dominating it. The C-Class gets a panaromic roof as std. fitment.

       The C-Class Grand Edition isn't much different from standard car and has all the safety features on it. The Petrol variant is priced at ₹ 36.81 lakhs and the Diesel variant is priced at ₹39.61 lakhs ex-showroom Mumbai.
