Let's tango

ASUSTeK Computer Inc., known as ASUS, is a Taiwanese multinational computer hardware and electronics company was founded in 1989 in Taiwan. ASUS is one of the world's largest computer hardware companies. Its products include desktops, PC peripherals, laptops, smartphones, tablets and hybrid devices. The company has made Android phones powered by Intel and Qualcomm SoCs.

Their latest flagship device is a bit different from every other manufacturers that are trying to achieve the near "The perfect phone". So in this state of the art technological world their offbeat approach made everyone think, towards which way are these devices leading.

ASUS has made the world’s first Tango enabled and Daydream ready phone "ASUS ZenFone AR", which they launched in CES 2017. Tango is a set of sensors and computer vision software that supports smartphone augmented reality experiences. Daydream is Google's platform for high quality, mobile virtual reality.

ZenFone AR has the ability to understand space and motion like humans do, which gives ZenFone AR augmented reality capabilities that feel positively futuristic. Tango adds motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning capabilities to ZenFone AR, so it can understand its motion as it moves through an area, detect how far way it is from the floor, walls, and objects, and see and remember the key visual features of a physical space in three-dimensional space.
Augmented Reality

ZenFone AR is equipped with the innovative TriCam system consisting of three rear cameras — a motion tracking, depth sensing, and high-resolution 23MP camera with Sony IMX 318 sensors, that helps the phone to a create a three-dimensional model of its surroundings and track its motion. Together with Tango, the ZenFone AR promises to deliver an engaging augmented reality experiences.

The Zenfone AR is a sleek phone that does not look like the tanky old Tango devices of before. It features a 5.7" Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display, with an impressive 79% screen-to-body ratio. Alongwith ultra-smooth graphics, and high-fidelity sensors that precisely track head movement, the device can immerse anyone in the VR world that would feel realistic. And to protect itself it has Corning Gorilla Glass 4 on it.
Virtual Reality

The ZenFone AR features the powerful 14nm fabricated the Qualcomm's Snapdrago 821 processor, that has been optimized for Tango to deliver ultra-fast performance. It first comes onboard with 8GB of RAM under the hood and Qluacomm's Adreno 530 GPU. It brings a 40% improvement in graphics performance at 40% less power than the Snapdragon 810. So it can provide more hours of augmented reality along with supercharged graphics. ZenFone AR has a sophisticated vapor cooling system that enables the CPU and GPU to work more efficiently and combat overheating efficiently.

ZenFone AR features a high-resolution 23MP camera as part of its TriCam system. With a large f/2.0 aperture lens, lightning-fast 0.03 seconds TriTech autofocus with subject tracking, and 92MP Super Resolution technology. It also has Optical and electronic image stabilization help ensure blur-free shots and 4K video recording lets you capture moments in the highest quality. It has 8-MP front shooter for taking selfies.

The device has leather rear back which has a precision driller steel frame in which houses the TriCam system. The ZenFone AR has the ASUS's SonicMaster 3.0 technology in speakers which has five-magnet speaker which is driven by a powerful NXP Smart AMP, for expansive, high-volume output. As a result the output is 140% louder and 42% less distortion.
TriCam system
The Asus ZenFone AR runs Android 7.0 and is powered by a 3300mAh non removable battery. It is a dual SIM smartphone that accepts Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Compass Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor, Gyroscope and Barometer.
The ZenFone AR is going to be released in the market during the second quarter of 2017. The official price of the device haven't revealed yet. The future technology is here now.
